Planting & Care Instructions
-
Soil Preparation: Prepare a lightweight, fertile, and well-draining soil mix enriched with well-rotted farmyard manure, vermicompost, or organic compost. Amaranthus thrives in rich soil with a balanced pH (6.0–7.5).
-
Sowing: Direct sow in containers or garden beds. Scatter the tiny seeds thinly across the moist soil surface and cover with a very thin layer (0.1–0.2 inches) of fine soil or coco peat. Press lightly and gently mist with water.
-
Watering: Keep the topsoil consistently moist using a gentle spray mist or rose can. Avoid heavy watering stream to prevent washing away seeds or damaging young tender seedlings.
-
Spacing & Thinning: Thin out seedlings to 4–6 inches apart once they reach 2 inches in height. This prevents overcrowding and allows healthy leaf development. Harvest full shoots or practice cut-and-come-again harvesting by snipping top leaves.
